AMF standing tradition of has a long- partnering with entities, governments, NGOs and other institutions especially from the wider UN family of agencies to achieve its stated objectives. The way in which AMF works with partners takes different forms and includes notably:

UNESCO

UNESCO and AMF have worked together for many years to combine UNESCO's education technical expertise with AMF's human development expertise,thereby creating synergy in linking education to development.AMF Kenya has partnered with UNESCO Regional office in Nairobi to implement literacy program;Skills for Life in Somalia,a program whose goal is improving literacy levels and life skills among young and women.It covers the three regions of Somalia namely;Puntland,Somaliland and South Central Somalia.The project staring date was December 2013 and it is expected to be completed in May 2015.Other partners in the program are the Somali Federal Ministry of Education and State Ministries of Education in Puntland and Somaliland.

IGAD

The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) in East Africa created in 1996. It is a regional cooperation comprising of Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan and Uganda. Its main areas of cooperation are food security and environment protection, economics cooperation, regional integration and social development peace and security. Al-maktoum foundation Kenya is currently in the process of planning and developing a program for provision of quality tertiary education and research to contribute to peace and stability reducing illegal and irregular mixed migration while enhancing resilience in the ASALS in the IGAD region .
